Context

During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, my co-founder and I were about to launch a long-haul logistics marketplace in North-Africa.

But Tunisians were faced with curfews that made it difficult to access essential products and food. With highly inefficient and non-transparent supply chains, corner shops were the only source of these goods for many people and were struggling to keep up with demand due to non-existent stocks and high volatility. We decided to launch an FMCG marketplace for small merchants.

In short

As a managed marketplace, Kamioun curates and oversees all aspects of the supply chain, from procurement and warehousing to delivery. By leveraging partnerships at different levels, Kamioun maintains a lightweight model that allows for optimal efficiency.

To support their operations, the company has developed two products: a customer-facing e-commerce mobile application and a light OMS for their internal operations team. Overall, Kamioun is helping to streamline the FMCG supply chain and create a more efficient marketplace for all involved parties.
